The update to 10.3.2 made Panther somewhat more compatible with some SCSI controllers, however, still not smooth as things have been in Jaguar 10.2.8 (cf.: IOSCSIDeviceInterface not supported under Panther ).Īpple explicitely changed things that caused SCSI problems in 10.3.3 that should be rectified with an update to 10.3.4. SilverFast testing center experienced severe SCSI detection problems with OS X 10.3.0 and 10.3.1. While Adaptec chose to remove their knowledgebase entry Answer ID 11052, here s how it originally read. The reason behind this lies in the algorithms used by SCSI controller cards and operating systems and resulting timing issues when addressing devices on the SCSI bus. With most SCSI scanners you are able to select a SCSI ID from 0 (or 1) to 6 on the back of the device (where you plug in the power cord).Īfter changing the ID it is necessary to reboot both, scanner and computer system.Īfter rebooting please check again, if scanner and SCSI controller are displayed as being properly installed in the Apple System Profiler (under Mac OS), respectively in the device manager and in the control panel item scanners and cameras (under Windows).

To me it is blatant arrogance and I am being punished for using a Mac and and OS that is the most stable on the Mac platform in the past 10 years. It is very interesting that software developers including Teamviewer have the latest version of their software compatible with Windows 7 (and some even compatible with Windows XP and Vista) that were released prior to Mac OS 10.6.8 but they wont make the software compatible with Mac OS 10.6.8, 10.7 or 10.8. Is there a way to fix this problem so that people who dont want to update their OS on mac can still use teamviewer without it having to quit every 5 mins.
